Writing Everyday Is Exhausting
At the start of November, I set a goal to pump out 5 posts a week for the duration of the month (partially inspired by NaNoWriMo), which works out to be 22 posts in total. So far I’ve published 19 posts (this one doesn’t count) so I should be on track to meet my goal.
I’m exhausted though and feel a bit burnt out. Unlike some of you all, I don’t write full-time for a living. It’s the dream, but I’m neither good nor productive nor gutsy enough to eschew the day job to write as if my life depended on it.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve developed a newfound appreciation and admiration for writers who publish virtually everyday — except for the ones that put out a constant stream of click-bait rubbish (curse you for making me click on yet another “You won’t believe how much I made when I went viral” article).
It takes real dedication and creativity to consistently write so much and avoid retreading old topics or sounding like a broken record.
I’m not whining. I’m actually quite proud of myself for nearing my output goal. But I will need a brain break after this.
